Rugby Cleats

Rugby Cleats

One of the great things about rugby is that there is very little equipment needed. Each player must have a BASA reversible jersey, soccer socks that cover the shin guards, a pair of soccer shin guards, soccer shorts or pants that do not have any snaps or zippers, and finally, shoes.

In addtition to that, if you don't have any rugby cleats, Wear weather-appropriate active wear, such as running shoes.

Rugby cleats are easily foound at most sports equipment stores. Many big name manufactures make a variety of styles and they come in sizes and styles that are perfect for men women and the younger players. Rugby shoes are super-light and flexible with outstanding performance. Many brands of rugby cleats fits like a glove the first time out. Generally they are made with leather uppers and rubber cleats which provide great traction as well as safety. Additionally they do little or no damage to the playing surface.

Here are some general guide lines when looking for rugby cleats:

  • Look for cleats light and flexible, be sure they fit properly.
  • Not all cleats are created equall, buy cleats that are specifically made for rugby.
  • You must try on cleats with rugby socks. You want them to have the proper fit.
  • And, always bring in old cleats to compare, if you have them.

Rugby  is a great sport. Just remember to get good equipment and follow the rules of safety and...have a great time!
